I have a new Model Y and am wondering if folks have worked out the best practices for charging that will optimize battery life? should I keep it charged every night to (say) 80-90%? Or let it run down to a lower level say 50-60% before charging it up? Does deep cycling help or hinder?
Look forward to any experience/advice you may have.
Thanks
Dougal
Not an expert here, but supposedly the battery is the happiest when it’s at 50%.
So, in our workshops for new owners and with the Tesla team, we talk about charging it up to 80%, then using it until the 20’s, but I guess if you are in a colder part of BC, maybe not risking it during these days cold days.
